Some of Heart’s best-known albums — among them 1976’s ‘Dreamboat Annie’ and 1977’s ‘Little Queen’ — feature only band mainstays Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson on the cover.

The Wilson sisters have borrowed a page from their past with the front image for ‘Fanatic,’ the band’s 14th studio album, which is scheduled for an Oct. 2 release on the Legacy label.

Produced by Ben Mink (who handled those same chores for Heart’s 2010 album, ‘Red Velvet Car’), the 10-song ‘Fanatic’ was recorded “in hotel rooms and studios up and down the West Coast,” according to the band’s Web site. The song ‘Walkin’ Good’ is a duet with pop singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan.

“What a crazy year we are having,” Ann Wilson says. “Our box set, ‘Strange Euphoria’ [released June 5], and our book, ‘Kicking and Dreaming’ [due Sept. 18], each tell the story of our lives so far, personally and musically. Our new album, ‘Fanatic,’ tells our story as it is now and brings it all up-to-the-minute.”
