Abilene Animal Shelter Is Hosting “Clear the Shelter” for August
The All Kind Animal Initiative at 925 South 25th Street wants to remind everyone to double-check on their pets, especially during this hottest month of the year. Make sure your fur babies have plenty of shade and water to stay hydrated. Now that we're in the hottest part of the year, the shelter needs your help.

All Kind is a non-profit organization committed to improving the welfare of animals in the Abilene area. If you can, help "clear the shelter" by adopting or fostering one of the animals currently at the shelter, All Kind is now open seven days a week. Hours vary, and the shelter closes every day from 2-3 pm for cleaning of kennels.
The best news of all, All Kind is offering half-off all adoption fees through August 31st. Take a look at the dogs that are on the "urgent list"; during the month of August, the entirety of their adoption fees will be waived.
If you have indoor pets and allow them to go outside to do their business, please be aware that they need to be brought in within 15 minutes, especially when temperatures are over 100 degrees. Indoor pets cannot weather the heat like a outdoor pets can.
Furthermore, if you're taking your pet out for a walk, think about that sidewalk and protect those paws.
