Join Chorus Abilene and Their Five Fun Festive Choirs in Concert
Since its founding in 1990, Chorus Abilene has been a cornerstone of the arts in West Texas. What began as a 23-member adult ensemble dreamed up by Dr. Betty Karol Wilson has grown into a powerful community organization with five active choirs. From young children to senior citizens, singers from across the Big Country unite under one goal: to share the joy of choral music.

Their mission remains clear and heartfelt: to educate the hearts, minds, and voices of singers while promoting choral music through performance and participation. Over the years, the group has performed throughout Texas and toured internationally, from Hawaii to Italy, Ireland, and Greece.
A Night of Music and Meaning
The time has come for one of Abilene’s most anticipated fall events, the Fall Chorale Showcase, happening Saturday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Abilene. Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased online at ChorusAbilene.com. This concert promises an unforgettable evening filled with uplifting harmonies, energy, and inspiration.
All five choirs will take the stage, performing a mix of powerful classics and contemporary favorites. Audiences will enjoy timeless pieces like River in Judea, Autumn Leaves, and Count on Me, alongside inspiring works from the Children’s and Youth Choruses. Whether you love traditional choral arrangements or modern melodies, this showcase truly offers something for everyone.
Voices That Build Community
What makes Chorus Abilene so special isn’t just their talent, it’s their heart. The singers represent the spirit of West Texas: family, faith, and community. Each performance is more than a concert, it’s a celebration of togetherness and the power of music to connect people across generations.
Director and staff members continue to nurture a welcoming space for all, reminding us that music has the unique power to heal, inspire, and unite.

Grab your friends, bring your family, and make plans to experience the beauty of local voices in harmony. Admission is open to the public, and the performance will fill the sanctuary with warmth, energy, and the unmistakable sound of Abilene’s musical pride, Chorus Abilene.
