It's that time of year again. Time for the annual Fiesta de La Paloma in Coleman, Texas. The original "Fiesta de La Paloma" was a traditional religious festival celebrated in Madrid, Spain.

The "Festival of the Dove" is a colorful fiesta. Since dove hunting season opened recently, the idea of a dove festival takes on an entirely different meaning in Texas. For the most part, the Texas festivals are dove cook-offs.

During the Fiesta de La Paloma, the streets of Coleman are filled with booths of all kinds as you'll see in the video below. The festival features live entertainment, and this year it's Texas Red Dirt artists Ariel Hutchins and 12 Mile.

The festival is a fun-filled family event that takes place in downtown Coleman. It is scheduled for October 6-7, 2023.

There is something for everyone, including the kids and pets! Not only that, it's inexpensive and entertaining. Activities will include food booths, an arts and crafts fair, games, a fine arts show at the library, a pet show, a dove/brisket/beans cook-off, Miss Coleman County Beauty Pageant, car and motorcycle show, a TATPA Tractor and Pick-up Pull, and Team Goat Roping.

The RLVenue will be another fun place to be during the Fiesta de la Paloma as they will be holding a Goat Roping on their patio, with live music by Josh Kennedy on Friday night. A Cash Bar will be available (no outside alcohol allowed).
