Eccentric mayor of Aspermont, Texas, Steven Ellis, decided to grab an innertube and float down what just might be the dirtiest part of the Brazos River. He filmed his funny journey and posted it to TikTok.

To his surprise, the video has now been viewed nearly 60 thousand times.

He started his float at The Double Mountain Fork of The Brazos River, which is located on a stretch between Old Glory, Texas, and Hamlin, Texas. That area has had quite a bit of rain recently and he wanted to take advantage of the river while he had the chance.

He parked his truck at the end of the float and then had his mom drop him off to begin his daring voyage. He brought a tube, a baseball bat for protection (haha), a plastic bag with a towel, some water, and his cell phone.

And, y'all, this water is DIRTY. It basically looks like Willy Wonka's chocolate river.

Most of the people that have commented on this video are freaked out at the fact that he floated the Brazos at all. It's kind of a no-no. Some portions of it are known for gators and all kinds of sketchy stuff, but he grew up in the area and it's not totally uncommon for people to float this small stretch. There are, however, some alligator gar in that water, and wild hogs around there, but he didn't seem too worried about them. He kind of enjoys living on the edge.

Before you watch this, I should also probably mention that Mayor Ellis is my boyfriend. He actually invited me to float with him that day. I declined, because...duh. That water is sketchy AF. I don't think I would have enjoyed myself the way he did. I'm just glad he made it back it back in one piece. He had such a good time that he floated it for a second time that day with his 15-year-old son, Axton. They came home muddy and grinning.

Anyway, enjoy this hilarious video!
