In Amarillo, we have a day that we put aside for every young entrepreneur to learn about running a business. They spend money to get their supplies. They find a location and spend a day learning about being a business owner.

The "Spend, Save, Share" Model: Building Financial Literacy

They can then reap the rewards: spending a portion on something special, setting some aside to save, and sharing the rest with a cause close to their heart.

Lemonade Day Amarillo is coming up on May 2, and you can support them by visiting one of many stands around town that day. You can have a cold glass of lemonade or even a snack from their stand. They will pitch their business, and you can ask what they want to buy, save, and who they want to donate to. They would love to have that discussion with you.

Not only will young future leaders get a taste of running a business on Lemonade Day, but they will also be competing for some great prizes. There will be awards for Best Overall Lemonade Stand, Most Creative Stand, but their recipe will also be put to the test.

The Recipe Contest: Dropping Off Samples at Sonic on Hillside

Every participant is invited to drop off a sample of their best lemonade at Lemonade Day Headquarters, located at the Sonic at 8611 Hillside Road. We will then be sampling every recipe and awarding the best-tasting lemonade.
