Amarillo’s Ascension Academy Launching New Montessori Preschool

Amarillo has a lot of different daycare options around town, as well as MDO-style programs. There really isn't a shortage for your kiddos to get taken care of, but what about when you're ready for that dreaded p-word...preschool.

There are numerous places that offer preschool programs, but not nearly as many as there are when it comes to daycare or MDO. Furthermore, finding a preschool that is truly a preschool and teaching the things you want them to learn can be tough.

Ascension Academy Launches Big Preschool Program

Well, now one of the schools in town is offering a big-time preschool program. Ascension Academy, the only college prep school in the Texas panhandle, is launching the Ascension Academy Montessori Preschool starting with the 2026-2027 school year.

The program is designed for kiddos aged 3-5 years old, and will be located on the Ascension Academy campus. The program will have its own dedicated building, so they won't be lumped in with all the big kids there.

Who Is Running The Program & How Much Does It Cost

The responsibility of running the program will belong to Emma and Kate Beckham. They are both very experienced educators and are certified in Montessori instruction. The program will be a five-day school week, and it will follow the same daily schedule and academic calendar as the main campus.

Now for the big question I'm sure you're asking. How much will it cost? The annual tuition for the program has been set at $8,000. Yes, it seems like it might be a bit pricey, but there's no cost too steep to set your child on the right path right out of the gate.
