Vintage John Wayne memorabilia is going on display in New York, including the iconic eye patch he wore in 'True Grit'. The saddle and hat he wore in the movie are also part of the display. The memorabilia will be auctioned on October 6th and 7th with proceeds going John Wayne's cancer charity. Other items on the block include scripts, costumes, personal letters, and some awards 'The Duke' received.

This will be the first time fans of the late Hollywood legend have a chance to view so many personal items, numbering around 750 lots in the upcoming auction conducted by Heritage Auctions. The display begins on September 23rd and runs through September 25th at the Fletcher Sinclair Mansion on 79th street in New York City. The auction will take place in Los Angeles and fans can actually bid on the items on the Heritage Auctions website at entertainment.ha.com. Check out the original movie trailer for 'True Grit'.
