Kentucky Mayor Is A Dog, No Really

The mayor of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky is a dog, really. The city has had a dog mayor for over a dozen years. The current big dog in charge is a border collie named Lucy Lou.

Town folk say she's great at public relations, and greets everybody with a smile and a wag. She's also a fundraiser for the town, and that's the point. The votes cost $1 each, assessed as a poll tax. All of the money raised goes to local restoration efforts on a historic church. The election raised over $22,000.

And by the way, this isn't a new campaign. The town of Rabbit Hash has had three dog mayors over the past 12 years. Lucy Lou happens to the town's first female mayor. See more on the story here at aolnews.com .
