M*A*S*H Actor Harry Morgan Dies At 96 [VIDEO]

Character actor Harry Morgan of M*A*S*H fame died early this morning (December 7th) at the age of 96.  Morgan is perhaps best known for his role as Colonel Sherman Potter on MASH, but he was a fixture on television before that series began.  Morgan played Officer Bill Gannon on 'Dragnet' in the late 60s.  His wry sense of humor was a counterpoint to the straight laced role of Joe Friday played by Jack Webb.  Check out a vintage clip featuring Morgan on MASH in a powerful scene:  (via TV.msn.com)
