I never thought I would see an announcement for a brand new album by the Cars. But it looks like we'll get one in May! Since the death of Benjamin Orr in 2000, the band has been on what most fans thought was a permanent hiatus. They had a brief semi-reunion with Todd Rundgren fronting the band, but then disappeared.

The new album, titled 'Move Like This' is scheduled for a May 10th release. And believe it or not, you can hear a sample of a brand new song right here. The new track, entitled 'Sad Song' captures the total feel and chemistry of the band and features all the original surviving members.

The Cars have always been one of my favorite bands. They were edgy out of the gate. I remember hearing 'Just What I Needed' in 1978. It's a vivid memory. I was playing foosball in a local establishment called 'Waldo's'. If you've lived in this area since the 70's, you might remember the place, located on the corner of South 14th and Sayles. When the song came on, the entire room stopped....and actually listened. The sound was just so different from anything out there at the time. Waldo's always had Dallas radio station KZEW on, and at that time, it was the only way you would have heard that particular song on radio living in Abilene.

Check out the clip from the new album and get ready for some new music from The Cars.
