The historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Abilene is continuing on with it's themed film series. This time of year you'll get to enjoy many holiday classic films that are both new and old.

Don't miss your opportunity to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" in the historic surroundings of the Paramount Theatre located at 352 Cypress Street in downtown Abilene. The film will be shown Friday, December 18, 2020 at 7:30 pm.

"It's A Wonderful Life" is the story of local banker 'George Bailey' and it's Christmas Eve in 1946. George misplaces the banks daily deposit, then all heck breaks loose as George Bailey goes crazy trying to find the banks $8,000 deposit he accidently misplaced in the daily newspaper he gave to Mr. Potter. Potter is the per say, evil nemesis in this classic Christmas film.

As George Bailey contemplates committing suicide by jumping off the towns bridge into the frozen river below, so that he and his family won't face the shame and scrutiny of losing the banks small fortune. When angel second class Clarence comes to George Bailey's rescue by jumping into the river himself and having George jump in to save the crazy little angel.

As the story goes Bailey makes the statement that he wished he'd never been born. So, the angel second class shows George what a life without him would really be like. In the end all the town's people were praying for George Bailey to be okay since no one could seem to find him in town

Without me giving away the ending of this classic film, I'll admit it's my favorite movies of all-time and I too plan on being there at the Paramount Theatre. Please check out this film as I promise, it will put you in the holiday spirit.
