Paul McCartney continues work on his upcoming album of 'standards', and now he says he will include a few new original songs. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Sir Paul said that he's 'having a lot of fun' with the new work.

Paul has always had a soft spot for the classics. His Dad was a musician who also played in a piano bar while Paul was growing up. And the songs he was exposed to left a lasting impression. Paul says he has a lot of memories of tunes such as 'Chicago' and 'Lullaby Of The Leaves'. You can hear those influences within a lot of McCartney's songs with the Beatles. 'When I'm Sixty Four' and 'Martha My Dear' come to mind. And those classic melodies found their way into McCartney solo efforts.
