The 62nd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest lit up the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine Saturday, May 13, where finalists from a collection of forty-two nations—including the U.K., Spain, Austria, Israel, France and Portugal—competed in hopes of taking home the title for best song.

After a long, music-filled battle, Portugal took home the top prize for the first time ever (they previously participated in the contest for 53 years), with singer Salvador Sobral's "Amar Pelos Dois" narrowly beating Bulgaria and Moldova's musical entries with 758 total points.

Following two semi-finals, which took place on May 9 and 11, the grand finals were hosted by Oleksandr Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk and Timur Miroshnychenko, with commentary by Graham Norton.
