Previously unseen photos from the Beatles' first U.S. appearance will be auctioned via Christie's Auction House in New York on July 20th. The photos, taken by photographer Mike Mitchell are mainly from the February 11th, 1964 show at Washington Coliseum. Mitchell has retained ownership of the photos. In fact the 50 photos have been in his basement for 46 years.

Some fans get a chance to see the photos before auction. They are currently on display in London before hitting the block in New York next month.
