Well, this is cool. How would you like to have twins who were born technically in separate years? This happened to an Abilene couple in 2013. This caught the attention of several nationwide. The family plans on celebrating their birthday on separate days.
Mad Dash for Cash on I-20
Here's another circumstance of what would you do? An armored truck accidentally let loose of what was called a "substantial" amount of cash along Interstate 20. Travelers stopped along the way to gather the cash but were quickly reminded that the act is highly illegal.

Playing for her Wylie team, you know a girl has a game when at age 12 Ella Bruning plays in the 2021 Little League World Series. Not only that, but she becomes only the third girl in history to record multiple hits in the LLWS.

Who remembers this? I certainly do. It's hard to miss when a jaguar escapes from the Abilene Zoo. This caught eyes all over the nation. Unfortunately, another animal was injured and had to be out down before the staff and officials contained the large cat.
Roe v. Wade Lawyer and Abilene Native Dies
Raised a minister's daughter in Abilene, Sarah Weddington went on to study law at the University of Texas. She then had an opportunity to argue the historic Roe v. Wade case before the Supreme Court in 1971 and 1972. She also served for the state of Texas among other civil positions. She was 76.
