‘SNL’ Preview: Bruce Willis Stages More ‘Die Hard’ Sequels, Plays Harmonica
Bruce Willis has made plenty of headlines in recent months with his apparent disinterest in the spotlight, but will he be up to the task of hosting 'SNL' for the first time since 1989? The 'Die Hard' star will step up to the stage for this Saturday's follow-up to last week's Miley Cyrus outing, and the first previews at least bring us "The Return of Bruno." Ah, '80s humor.
Featuring newly minted "Weekend Update" co-host Cecily Strong in her first 'SNL' promo, Willis naturally allows a few 'Die Had' references to roll off his back in the previews of this Saturday's outing, even busting out a harmonica jam to call back to his more musical days. We're not entirely sure of WIllis' angle in returning to the 'SNL' stage with Katy Perry after 14 years, but the man certainly could use a bit of good will after those disastrous 'Red 2' interviews.
Upcoming weeks for ‘SNL’ season 39 will supposedly return Lady Gaga to the stage, while we’re still keeping an eye on cast additions Brooks Wheelan, Mike O’Brien, John Milhiser, actress Noël Wells, and “Good Neighbor” performers Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, all of whom stepped in to replace the departed Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis. Cecily Strong is also expected to take over the “Weekend Update” desk from Seth Meyers after his 2014 ‘Late Night’ departure.
Behold all of Bruce Willis' stilted glory in the new 'SNL' promos above, and tell us in the comments if you'll tune in this Saturday.
