I turn 50 years old at the end of January.  And while I'm not a star by any means or stretch of the imagination, I was looking at a list of celebs hitting the big 5-0 earlier today.  They are all peers in age, if not status.

Some of those prominent people make me feel better about reaching a 'milestone', while others tend to make me feel just plain old.  Think about it.  George Clooney hits 50 later this year.  That's cool.  He's considered one of the hottest guys on the planet in all of the various magazine polls.

But the fact that the youngest kid in the Brady Bunch, Susan Olsen,  is turning 50 makes my life pass before my eyes.

President Barack Obama turns 50 this year.  That elicits mixed feelings.  Makes me wonder if I should have accomplished more during my lifetime.  Also makes me feel old when the most powerful guy on the globe is my age.  I think of presidents and dignitaries as 'experienced', 'sage', 'wise'...and yes, OLDER.  I don't feel old, most of the time.

Others on the list include Eddie Murphy, Heather Locklear, Wayne Gretzky, George Lopez, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael J. Fox.

If you're turning 50 this year or have recently reached that age, I think you'd agree it is a time of assessment and reflection.  I'm trying not to overthink it too much, but it ain't easy right now.
