Steven Tyler Says New Aerosmith Album Is Written But Needs Lyrics [VIDEO]

Steven Tyler has been promoting the new season of 'American Idol' all this week in Hollywood. During an interview, he was asked how things are going with the new Aerosmith album. Tyler says the music is there but needs lyrics: 'All of it's been written, but I gotta lay lyrics on it and I haven't had a lot of time. But what I've listened to so far just knocked me out. I know a good song, I know what's gonna get played on the radio, I'm not that pretentious to say I think we've got hits, but I think we've got something, and that's all that matters.'

As far as how 'Idol' has affected Aerosmith, Steven says it's all good. In fact he says the band's music sales have more than doubled since he joined the show as a judge last year. No word on when he might shake loose the time to finish out those new Aerosmith songs with lyrics, but the band is still shooting for a new album this year.
