Long in the tooth though it might be, CBS powerhouse 'Two and a Half Men' has just found its next (more chromosomally literal) half-man. After an extensive search for an actress to portray Charlie Harper (Sheen)'s long-lost lesbian daughter, former 'Joan of Arcadia' and 'House' star Amber Tamblyn has been selected to fill the recurring role when 'Two and a Half Men' season 11 picks up this fall.

First to appear as a recurring character in five episodes, with an option to turn series regular in ostensibly replacing Angus T. Jones, Tamblyn's Jenny will arrive in the September 26 premiere having moved from New York to LA to pursue a career in showbusiness. Naturally when Charlie isn't around to receive her, Jenny ends up staying with Uncle Alan (Jon Cryer) and Walden (Ashton Kutcher).

“She’s somewhat of a chip off the old block,” said executive and series creator producer Chuck Lorre of Jenny's character. “She’s having a good time and doesn’t care about the destruction left behind her. Decadence from the other side felt long overdue.” Previously, Lorre joked about incorporating 'Anger Management' castoff Selma Blair into the series as Jenny's disapproving mother, but something tells us the age difference between Tamblyn (30) and Blair (41) might be a bit hard to swallow. Even with Charlie's history.

Well, what say you? Will Amber Tamblyn be the shot of life the CBS comedy has been looking for after Ashton Kutcher's arrival? ‘Two and a Half Men’ will return September 26 in its new airing time on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m., but in the meantime, give us your thoughts in the comments!
