The Abilene area is a melting pot of dining experiences from bar-b-que to seafood to tex-mex and more. So when I began my journey to seek out some sushi, it shouldn't have surprised me that Abilene has quite a few places to order it.

However, it did surprise me. Sushi is fairly plentiful in the area and pretty dang good, overall.

Yummy: Places to Get Sushi in Abilene

Here are some of the most popular places in Abilene to get sushi.

Now, with all of those amazing restaurants that serve sushi, my favorite place for sushi just may shock you. Honestly, I really like the sushi from United Marketstreet on Buffalo Gap Road.

Not only is their sushi belly-approved, but if you're there at the right time, you just might get a free sample or two.

H-E-B also makes, and sells, sushi in-house, but I haven't tried theirs just yet. That'll happen this weekend.

I'm sure there are other options for sushi in our area, so please send me an email to let me know your favorite.

Eating sushi isn't just delicious, but there are quite a few health benefits from this food, as well.

Being rich in Omega3 means eating sushi can help reduce high cholesterol. The Omega3 fish oils can also help "boost memory" as well as other cognitive behavior.

There are a plethora of health benefits, but there are also some cons. Some (not all) sushi is made with raw fish which can contain bacteria. High levels of sodium are another downside to sushi, but just eat it in moderation and you'll be good.
