  • THE BEACH BOYS

    The Beach Boys are coming back to Abilene for a special show at the Abilene Convention Center on Thursday, March 21st. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday at 10am, but you can purchase yours with our special presale password on Thursday at 10am.

  • DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE

    The City of Abilene Recreation and Senior Services Division is presenting a fun night out for dads, granddads, or best gentlemen and their little ladies on Thursday, February 7th at the Abilene Convention Center. 

  • WWE LIVE

    WWE Live is coming back to Abilene on January 19th at the Taylor County Coliseum. This family-friendly event is going to be full of high-flying, high-energy entertainment and superstars like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Sasha Banks and many more of your favorite wrestlers!

  • NEIGHBORHOOD FISHING

    The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the City of Abilene parks and Recreation Dept. continue their 'Neighborhood Fishing' program in Abilene. The 'Neighborhood Fishing' program's 'Trout Derby' is aimed at inner city kids who otherwise would never get the chance to learn about fishing. This free event has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9th, at the creek at Cal Young Park.

  • WEST TEXAS REHABILITATION CENTER TELETHON

    The 49th Annual West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s Telethon will be January 19th at the Abilene Convention Center. Ricky Skaggs will be the featured entertainment along with Runaway June! The doors open at 4pm for the auction and 5:30pm for the telethon!

  • TEXAS GUN AND KNIFE SHOW

    The Texas Gun and Knife show is returning to the Abilene Convention Center on January 26th and 27th. Come find that perfect shotgun, pistol or rifle you've looking for and also talk with a couple of the local non-profit organizations like Disabled American Veterans and others that will be on hand selling raffle tickets and raising funds for their organizations.

  • TET REUNION

    On Saturday, February 2nd the Abilene Grunts Association and Texas Veterans Chapter One will host their 32nd Annual TET Reunion at the Taylor County Fairgrounds. This reunion is a time for veterans and their families to gather and share old memories and stories of their years in the military. Come listen to or share some of your own stories with fellow veterans and their families.

  • CATCH THE GROUNDHOG HALF MARATHON

    Abilene's Parks & Recreation Division invites you to participate in the 2019 'Catch The Groundhog Half Marathon.' The event takes place Saturday, February 2nd, in "13.1 miles of scenic Abilene" starting at Elmdale Baptist Church, 233 Elmdale Road. The route will be down Elmdale Road, turning at the halfway point and returning to the church parking lot. The first 100 to sign up will receive a free t-shirt.

  • FIRE AND ICE FEAST

    Come join the fun at the Fire and Ice Feast and help out the Buffalo Gap, Jim Ned, Lawn and Moro Volunteer Fire Departments. The 'Fire and Ice Feast' is a two day cook-off fundraising event that involves close to thirty cook teams.

    However, this event is invitation only, but you can make a $25 donation at the gate and receive your invitation for two on Sunday Feb. 3rd.

  • ABILENE IDOL

    Experience the Abilene Idon mania on February 3rd at the Abilene Mall. The competition is open to anyone, but only the top 15 will perform at the Abilene Civic Center on February 23rd. All auditions will be held from 10am to 3pm on February 3rd at the Mall of Abilene.

  • THE FUR BALL

    The “Fur Ball” is West Texas’ only dinner-dance for people and their dogs. This year's theme is all about ‘Mardi Gras’ so get your costumes ready. Dinner will be catered by Pirini Ranch Steakhouse and the doggie buffet will be catered by Pams Pets and Fish. The Abilene Community Band will be the featured entertainment. There will be a dance and costume contest.

  • LOVE AROUND THE WORLD AT THE GRACE

    Now’s your chance to travel around the world without ever leaving Abilene during the Love Around the World at the Grace event, February 16th. Guests will visit various countries through decor, food, drink and music. Stops will be made in Brazil, China, Scotland, and California’s Napa Valley. The event is a benefit for the museum’s exhibitions and educational programs and takes place from 7-11pm.

  • SILVER SPUR GUN AND BLADE SHOW

    The Silver Spur Gun and Blade show is returning to Abilene on February 23rd and 24th. Come find the perfect rifle or shotgun you’ve been wanting and check out the beautiful jewelry as well. The show will be at the Taylor County Coliseum from 9-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.
