Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top made an appearance at the 2013 American Country Awards, offering support for his buddy Jake Owen on his rocking country song, 'Days of Gold'. Adding to this genre-crossing event was the fact that Owen appeared to be genuinely surprised by Gibbons' appearance.

Jake started  by laughing and clapping for Billy, showing that not only is he a fan of the rock legend, but seemed to be in awe of the fact that Gibbons agreed to share the stage with him. And Owen gave a similar look after the guitar solo and Owen again looked like a fan who had been pulled onto the stage with one of his heroes. The crowd approved of the performance with one of the loudest ovations of the night.

While he may have won over the crowd, Owen didn't win in the only ACA category he was nominated. He picked up a nod for Single of the Year - Male for his song 'The One That Got Away', but the award went to Blake Shelton.
