Find Out Where You Can Screen the Theatrical Reissue of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’
Fifty years after it first arrived in theaters, 'A Hard Day's Night' is returning for a special one-night engagement on the Fourth of July.
As we previously reported, the Beatles' first film is making its way back to the big screen as part of a broader campaign to celebrate the movie's 50th anniversary, which also includes a deluxe DVD/Blu-ray reissue, due June 24, that bundles an impressive array of bonus material alongside a digital remaster of the original feature.
ABC News Radio reports that the new remaster has received a stamp of approval from 'Hard Day's Night' director Richard Lester. Fans can also look forward to a freshly scrubbed soundtrack, complete with a newly-created 5.1 surround mix that was overseen by producer Giles Martin at Abbey Road Studios. In addition to the home video reissue and the July 4 screenings, a special screening has been scheduled for July 6 at the Catalina Island Museum in Avalon, California, which is scheduled to be attended by George Harrison's first wife, Pattie Boyd, who met Harrison on the 'Hard Day's Night' set.
Few of us will be able to score tickets for that particular screening, but there are plenty of others to choose from, and finding out whether 'A Hard Day's Night' will be playing near you is as simple as following this link and taking a look at the complete list of theaters. Will you be making it out for Beatlemania on July 4, or hosting your own home screening instead?
