It's getting to be that time of year. Thanksgiving is a season to gather with loved ones and express gratitude for our many blessings. I know that for me, with the hustle and bustle of daily life, sometimes I forget to take a moment to pause, reflect, and show thanks to those who matter most.

Write a Thank You Note

In the age of technology, a handwritten thank-you note can go a long way. Take some time to write a personal message to those who have made a positive impact on your life. Maybe it's a friend, family member, or co-worker. In any case, they'll appreciate the effort.

Cook a Meal

I always enjoy this one. Food just has a way of bringing people together. Show your thanks by making a home-cooked meal for your loved ones. Whether it's the traditional Thanksgiving feast or a simple dinner, the act of cooking for others is a great way to show you care.

Volunteer

Giving back to the community by volunteering your time is another terrific way I like to show thanks. There are countless local organizations and charities that could use a helping hand, especially this time of year. Not only will you be making a difference in the lives of others, but there's a sense of fulfillment you can receive in return.

Active Listening

One of the best ways to show you care is by simply listening. Put away your phone and give your full attention to loved ones. Having meaningful conversations and truly listening to what they have to say will not only strengthen your relationship but show that you value them.

Create a Gratitude Jar

We practice this one every year without fail. Start a family tradition by creating a gratitude jar. Have everyone jot down what they're thankful for on a piece of paper and place it in the jar. Then, during Thanksgiving dinner, take turns reading them aloud. This simple act can have a huge impact and serve as a reminder of our blessings.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show appreciation to those who matter most. By writing a note, cooking a meal, volunteering, listening, or assembling a gratitude jar, you can express being thankful in meaningful ways. So, this Thanksgiving, take a second to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the blessings in your life.
