A new study conducted by Ofcom indicates that smart phones are gaining on tv as the most popular media for young people.

And that also holds true for adults.

According to the survey 28 percent of 16 to 24 year olds said they would miss their phone more than tv...or the internet.  Of course the phone lets you surf the net, so I'm not sure if that was taken into account.

When looking at the younger kids aged 12 to 15, the gap narrows.  They are most attached to their smart phones and spend almost as much time on the internet as watching tv.  That younger demographic watches tv an average of about 17 hours per week, compared to just over 15 hours spent online.

As far as adults overall, our time on the internet increased from 12 hours to 14 hour per week, comparing 2009 to 2010.
