There's new research out there that a 'boredom diet' might actually help you lose weight. The diet consists of eating the same thing every day. The theory is that it will cause you to consume less of whatever it is you're eating, because you're bored with it and/or tired of it!

Actually the concept does make sense. I've often wondered how our pets do it. The same old dog food or cat food every single day. And of course, it's truly better for animals not to have your leftovers and to stick to a proven diet for their species. In the mix for them most of the time are at least a few 'treats'.

The current research showed that women who ate macaroni and cheese for an entire week consumed about 100 less calories of the stuff by the end of the week. I believe that. I just can't see anybody sticking to this particular diet long enough to do any good. I love a good steak every once in awhile. In fact I could say it's a favorite food. But I believe if I ate steak every day, or anything every day for that matter, I would be particularly sick of it after a week or less.

The fact remains that to lose weight and to keep it off requires a lifestyle change. And that change must include exercise. With just a little bit of effort in the exercise department, you can lose weight by just moderating a few eating habits. A wholesale, strict diet is not so necessary. It's common sense. Any takers for the boredom diet?? I don't think it's for me. (via dailymail.co.uk)
