George Frideric Handel's Messiah was originally meant for Easter only. It began at the Musick Hall in Dublin in April of 1742. Now, of course, Messiah is a Christmas season concert in the United States and Great Britain and is a must around the holidays. It is well known that CD sales and Web downloads skyrocket during this time of year.

Chorus Abilene is Abilene’s premier vocal choral group, Chorus Abilene promotes choral music through performance and participation by members of all ages. Chorus Abilene was founded in 1990 as "The Classical Chorus of Abilene."

Now, Chorus Abilene has both young and adult chorus vocal groups, and everyone is encouraged to try out for Chorus Abilene. The chorus performs several times a year at many different locations and occasions.

Many performances are either holiday or faith-based like Christmas and Easter

I've always been a fan and have followed the Classical Chorus of Abilene throughout the years as they're known for their many holiday presentations. Many of the presentations are faith-based like Christmas and Easter, while others may be a holiday or an event-based concert like the Fourth of July.
