Happy Birthday Chubby Checker – 70! [VIDEO]

Happy 70th birthday to Chubby Checker! Checker started what was arguably the biggest dance craze to every hit America with his smash hit 'The Twist'. He was born Ernest Evans, but changed his name in the '50s because he resembled Fats Domino. So the takeoff seemed obvious. Fats Domino, Chubby Checker.

He continues to perform regularly around the world, and occasionally records new material. I was fortunate to meet Chubby Checker when he stopped by our studios a few years back.
