Jack J. Hayes, the composer of music for the tv series 'Happy Days' and numerous others has died. He was 92 years old. Hayes not only scored the familiar 'Happy Days' theme, he also wrote music for 'Gunsmoke' and 'Laverne & Shirley'. He was big in movie orchestration too, scoring music for 'Up', 'Star Trek', 'Mission: Impossible III', 'Taxi Driver', and 'The Three Musketeers'. He was a collaborator with Leo Shuken on music for classic films 'To Kill A Mockingbird', 'In Cold Blood', and 'Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid'.

Hayes was nominated for two Oscars, one for music in 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' in 1964, and another for scoring music for 'The Color Purple'. The cause of death was listed as 'natural causes'. (via tv.msn.com)
