UPDATE: 6/16/22 - 3:00 pm

Following JJ Watt's response to DraftKings, on Twitter, DraftKings stepped up to the challenge with a forthcoming donation to Watt's favorite charity.

Ouch. After getting sacked on Twitter yesterday, clearly we are safer to be on J.J. Watt’s good side.  So DraftKings customers can now back him to make his first career Super Bowl appearance this season. For 24 hours, we are boosting those odds and will donate all handle from this market to a charity of JJ’s choice. Good luck to JJ and to all DraftKings bettors! JJ Watt is one of the most feared defensive players in the history of the NFL, but also one of the most-loved players because he's one of the nicest guys on the planet. Well, that is, unless you get on his wrong side on Twitter.

That's exactly what the sports betting website, DraftKings, learned on Wednesday after they attempted to troll Watt on Twitter.

It started with Watt posting a photo, from practice, of him throwing a football.

A short time later, DraftKings thought it was a good idea to retweet said photo with the caption "Intercepted".

That's when Watt followed with a savage burn forcing them to stay in their lane.

It's very rare that you see Watt knock someone down a notch or two, on social media, so when he does get the popcorn ready because the funny responses will follow.

Following the publication of this article, I received an email from DraftKings alerting me of their charitable response to JJ Watt. You've gotta love and respect a company with a sense of humor and a desire to put its money where its mouth is.

Now, what do we have to do to be able to utilize DraftKings to its fullest here in Texas?

The answer is to call all of your local representatives and other lawmakers. Sports betting is not legal in Texas, but it should be. Then again, we'll probably be the last state to legalize marijuana, so those out-of-touch legislators in Austin really need to step into 2022.

You'd think they'd love that additional tax revenue.

LOOK: The story behind every NFL team name

Stacker delved into the story behind every NFL football team name. Overall team records, also included, are reflective of NFL regular-season games. There are some football teams with well-known nicknames—the Jets, for instance, are often referred to as Gang Green—but we also divulge how some teams’ official names are sparingly used (the Jets’ neighbors, the Giants, are actually known as the New York Football Giants). Sometimes a team name can tell you a lot about local history: The Vikings of Minnesota draw upon the area’s strong ties to Scandinavia, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dripping in local legend related to Florida’s pirate past.

Let’s kick off the countdown with the folks who earned their nickname by buying boxes of used team jerseys.
