Jessica Chastain, Nicole Richie + Rooney Mara Wore Our Favorite Dresses at the CFDAs [PHOTOS]
We were blown away by the number of gorgeous dresses that draped the bodies of the stars at this year's Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards: Lovely ginger Jessica Chastain dolled up in black, while Nicole Richie's gold lame sheath skimmed her slim frame and Rooney Mara once again wowed us by vamping it up in an unusual frock.
And there other stunners, too.
Jessica Chastain
With her hair slicked back off her face, Chastain's toned, porcelain shoulders were the centerpiece of her look. She wore a strapless black Riccard Tisci dress and wow, what a rebound for him -- he designed that grandma's couch fabric "thing" that Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala.
Nicole Richie
The designer's simple, gold lame gown by Marc Jacobs was anything but plain. Like Chastain, she wore a tight bun, and with her hair pulled back, her dress took center focus. It was glam and summery at the same time.
Rooney Mara
Mara donned a black laser-cut Calvin Klein frock, which was fitting for her vampy, goth girl image. She, too, wore her hair off her face, but she slicked her pout with berry lipstick, drawing the eye up.
Elizabeth + Mary-Kate Olsen
Liz wore a black gown by The Row, the sisters' high-end line (their contemporary line, Elizabeth + James, is named after their other siblings). M.K., meanwhile, wore a vintage Issey Miyake gown that mimicked a spiral staircase.
Here's a better look at M.K.'s amazing, origami-like dress with gentle pleating. We like it better when she's not boob-to-boob with her sis.
Kerry Washington
The sea of darker dresses was punctuated by Kerry Washington's lemon yellow Jason Wu, which was more interesting from the back.
Rose Byrne
A custom Thakoon mini, Byrne's dress wasn't flashy -- but it sure was gorgeous on the 'Bridesmaids' star. We love the apron effect on the skirt.
