The band Journey has been playing live for audiences for almost 40 years.  They've toured through lineup changes, broken relationships, reunions, and replacement lead singers.  Now the band is being rewarded for its love of entertaining fans with live concerts.

On November 10th, Billboard Magazine will present Journey with its 'Legend Of Live' honor at the annual awards show in New York. The award "honors groups or individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to live music and the touring business, and acknowledges the recipients' commitment to the art of performing live and reaching fans through the concert experience." Journey will join an elite group of past recipients including Rush, Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, and the Allman Brothers.

Journey guitarist Neal Schon will be on hand to accept the award and said, "I'm so honored to come to New York to represent the band for all the years and dedication that everyone's given."  The band continues to record and play live with current lead vocalist Arnel Pineda singing Journey songs old and new.  Here's a live video of Journey recorded in Japan in 1980:  (via Billboard.com)
