Mick Jagger has announced his new supergroup which inlcudes Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, and Bob Marley's youngest son Damien.  The band is calling itself 'Super Heavy'.

There had been some sparse press about Mick working on a new solo album, but this is something unexpected. You have to wonder if Jagger is taking cues from his Glimmer Twin Keith Richards, who has had a bit more solo success by 'grouping' up with musicians.  Keith's 'Expensive Winos' have done numerous tours and play on that reggae vibe.

Mick says the songs will truly be a group effort and feature all four vocalists out front on the various tracks.  He says it will be accessible, but have some edgy moments too.  I'm intrigued by the possibilities.  You just don't think about Mick Jagger working in a band other than the Rolling Stones.

The new album is expected to come out some time this Fall.
