I can't wait for the weather to start warming up even more. That means Texas road trips. One of my favorite places to visit is Six Flags Over Texas. You just can't beat it. Thrilling rides, great shows, and good food all in one place. We usually take an extended weekend and take advantage of a 2-day pass. There's so much to see and do. It's hard to enjoy it all in just one day.

I've heard some exciting news that has been years in the making. Six Flags Over Texas is finally getting a new roller coaster. According to the television station WFAA, the long-awaited "Aquaman Power Wave" roller coaster will open on March 11th, 2023, just in time for spring breakers to enjoy. This is big news. The last roller coaster to open at Six Flags Over Texas was "The Joker" back in 2017.

Who's ready to go on a road trip this spring? The stats on this coaster sound amazing. First, it's one of the park's faster coasters reaching speeds up to 63 mph. There are also two 150-foot towers launching passengers and then dropping them at a 90-degree angle. The ride concludes with a splashdown so come prepared.

I had a love for amusement parks and roller coasters at an early age. Growing up in the panhandle of Texas, Wonderland Amusement Park was always on hand and I loved it. Aquaman Power Wave sounds like it's definitely going to make a "splash". I can't wait to give it a try. Who's with me?

Spring break is a great time to hit the road and catch this new coaster. You can preview even more pictures of this ride getting ready to open in mere weeks.

Unlike Six Flags Over Texas, there are some amusement parks that just couldn't make it any longer. It's sad to see places that held so much joy and excitement lay dormant. Such is the case for an old Colorado amusement park and we have the pictures below.
