New Lyle Lovett Album Features Townes Van Zandt Tune [VIDEO]

The new Lyle Lovett album will be out at the end of this month (February 28th 2012).  The title is 'Release Me' and it's appropriate since it's his first independent release after being 'released' from a major label contract.

I've seen Lyle Lovett And His Large Band twice, and they are one of the most gifted groups I've ever seen play live.  Lyle is very picky on sound too.  The quality of the sound and the mix at his shows are awe inspiring.

In addition to new material on the upcoming album, Lyle tackles a few cover songs.  This one is particularly well suited to his band.  Check out Lyle Lovett and the Large Band on Townes Van Zandt's 'White Freightliner'.  If you're on this stage, you better have showed up to play!:
