October 2017 New Music Releases
The list of October 2017 new music releases features a number of highly anticipated studio albums, live projects and reissues.
Robert Plant's 11th studio LP again finds him working with the Sensational Shape Shifters, his collaborators on 2014's lullaby and ... the Ceaseless Roar. The new Carry Fire album also features a guest turn by Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders.
The Who have two new offerings planned, one in concert and the other archival. Tommy – Live at the Royal Albert Hall showcases a rare complete performance of their classic rock opera from last spring; Maximum As & Bs, meanwhile, collects every single A- and B-side, as well as every EP, they ever released.
Other concert albums due in October include Jeff Beck's Live at the Hollywood Bowl, which finds the guitarist marking 50 years as a recording artist with a special star-studded cast.
Autograph are set to release their first full-length album since they returned in 2013, while Europe's 11th studio album, Walk the Earth, is their first since 2015's War of Kings. Dhani Harrison, son of George Harrison, will issue his first-ever solo album after several group efforts and a series of projects related to his late father.
Whitesnake's breakthrough self-titled seventh studio effort gets a deluxe reissue in honor of its 30th anniversary, while Montrose's first two albums will also be expanded and reissued.
