Important news for beer drinkers.

Sierra Nevada is recalling certain 12-ounce bottles that were distributed across more than half the country.

According to the company, the recall comes after one of its breweries "detected a very limited number of bottles with a flaw that may cause a small piece of glass to break off and possibly fall into the bottle, creating a risk for injury." Yeah, to the best of our knowledge, glass is not one of the key ingredients in any lager, ale or stout, so good job getting it off shelves.

Eight types of Sierre Nevada are affected, including the traditional Pale Ale, Beer Camp Golden IPA, Sidecar Orange Pale Ale, Torpedo Extra IPA, Tropical Torpedo, Nooner, Hop Hunter and Otra Vez.

Only about one out of every 10,000 bottles are believed to have the defect. Sierra Nevada has stopped selling the beer.
