By definition it's still a rumor, but the surviving Beatles could play together for the 2012 Olympics in London. And the reunion might include the sons of John Lennon and George Harrison.

Paul McCartney himself made a sly reference to playing at the Olympics saying, 'I've heard a rumor I might be involved'.

It would be incredible if Paul and Ringo were joined on stage by Julian Lennon and Dhani Harrison. Most of us have heard the uncanny resemblance Julian's voice has to his Dad's. But Dhani Harrison bears just as much resemblance both in appearance and vocal timbre to his father  as well.  Harrison is in a band called 'Fistful Of Mercy' along with Ben Harper. Check out their debut album and prepare to be amazed at how much Dhani sounds like his father George.  (video follows at the bottom of the text)

I have always wondered why Paul McCartney never asked Julian Lennon to guest on any of his albums, or vice versa. The harmony vocals would be literally jaw dropping. And with their friendly relationship over the years, it's all the more puzzling. 'Hey Jude' was after all written for Julian. Paul has always had guest artists collaborate, play, and sing on his solo albums. Everyone from Stevie Wonder to Michael Jackson, Steve Miller, Elvis Costello, Carl Perkins - but never Julian.

I would say it's still an incredible long shot. But maybe, just maybe it could happen when the Olympics hit the Beatles' home country next year.
