When it comes to enjoying a cold, refreshing brew, the Lone Star State stands proudly among the top contenders. Texas is a state with vibrant beer culture and a great appreciation for hops and barley. Texans have embraced the art of beer-making and the joy of raising a glass with friends and family. Where is all that brew going? I went on the search to find out what state puts away the most beer, and I found what I was looking for. The beer-making website Learning To Homebrew has compiled some data that could shock you. I know I was a bit surprised at some of the states on the list. Let's run down the top 10 states having the most chug-a-luggers.

Not a big surprise that Nevada makes the list. After all, Las Vegas is the party capital of the United States.
9th Place
Although Nebraska has a small population overall, it has more than 70 breweries within the state.
8th Place
Although there are over 200 breweries in Wisconsin, the beer of choice for the state is Blue Moon.
7th Place
I'm shocked. I knew Texas would make the list, but I sure thought it would be higher up. If it's one thing I know, Texans love their cold beer.

Vermont has a relatively low population of just over 600,000, but they can still put away the suds. You'll find over 60 breweries within the state.

Who knew Maine had so many breweries? 133 to be exact. That translates into a bunch of beer drinking.
