Rovio, the company that created 'Angry Birds' has raised $42 million in financing for future ventures.

The 'Angry Birds' video game has been a global phenomenon downloaded on countless smart phones, and just about inescapable.

You see 'Angry Birds' t-shirts, mugs, and other merchandising items in stores.

The company Rovio has some major players investing in their future. Skype cofouner Niklas Zennstrom is joining the company's board.

To date, 75 million versions of the game have been downloaded. It's amazingly simple to play....and very addictive. If you somehow don't know the game, the way you play is to fire birds out of slingshots at pigs. Hundreds of levels are involved so the play is almost endless.

With that kind of financing, I would bet on Rovio having some pretty cool games in the near future. See more here at huffingtonpost.com .
