March Madness Mascots!

With March Madness officially underway, I thought it would be fun to check out the mascots.

They're a big part of the show and some of the antics get outlandish, as they should. They don't call it madness for nothing.

No offense to Notre Dame whatsoever (I'm 3/4 Irish), but their mascot is not the best one out there. A guy dressed up as a leprechaun certainly fits the Fighting Irish name, but he's not real exciting on the court.

Living mascots are definitely cool. UT's Bevo always gets the crowd going. Purdue Pete just looks odd with that big plastic head and large eyes. Kinda unnerving like the Burger King in those commercials.

Duke's very own Blue Devil is a LOT of fun to watch. It's not always easy to pull off a schtick with a cape, but he seems to get it done. And the head on the costume is a little more in proportion than Purdue Pete's.

Big Jay is awesome for the Kansas Jayhawks. Why is it that bird mascots always seem to work best? 'Angry Birds' anybody?
