Here's a story that lends credence to the saying 'no good deed goes unpunished'.  New York school bus driver George Daw was fired after giving a ride to two police officers.  Daw was wrapping up his route on August 1st during a hail storm when he came upon a police car that was stalled due to flooding.  The officers were asking for help and told Daw they needed a ride back to their precinct.  On the bus was one teenage student and a bus matron.

Daw immediately allowed the two officers on board, but when the info got back to the transportation company that operates the bus, they fired him for violation of policy. A spokesperson for 'Educational Bus Transport' of Copiague said, 'We have policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety of the children we transport. When these policies and procedures are not followed, we will address them in an appropriate manner.'  And he added that Daw's dismissal was not just based on this incident.  It would appear to me that this 'incident' might work in the bus driver's favor.  What do you think?  (via NBCNewYork.com)
