Couple Engaged For 28 Years Finally Marries

I wonder if the Guinness Book of World Records has a category for longest engagements before marriage. If so, this British couple might hold the record.

Ivan Brown, 63 and Barbara Furlonger, 55 got engaged all the way back in 1983. They've lived together ever since, but never made it official with a wedding.

They say they delayed the wedding because of work issues. He is a hospital consultant and she works as a radiologist. They felt that it was time to slow down a bit and to finally seal the deal. Barbara retired last year and says that she actually had the time to plan the wedding. Ivan and Barbara tied the knot on May 20th. This one just might last.
