Heart Dropped By Medics – Transplant Happens Anyway [VIDEO]

A heart removed for transplant was dropped by medics on their way to the hospital after landing in Mexico.  One of the medics tripped, causing the rolling cooler containing the heart to pop open and spill its contents, including the transplant organ.

The operation proceeded anyway, with hospital officials noting there was no damage to the organ, nor any contamination since it was wrapped in sterile packaging.  The woman who received the heart had not been told the story of the mishap after the transplant operation was successfully completed.  Of course, everything is available these days on video.  Watch the fumble below:  (via msnbc.com)
