It seems impossible that it's just now happening.  Paul McCartney is set to get his solo star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 9th 2012, exactly 48 years to the day that the Beatles made their debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Paul's star will be right in front of the Capitol Records building appropriately.  And of course, it will be right next to the solo stars for band mates John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

The following night, McCartney will be honored as the 'MusiCares Person Of The Year'.  (via hollywoodreporter.com)
