SHOCKING – Lightning Strikes Just Yards in Front of Boat on East Texas Lake [VIDEO]

With thunderstorms blowing up across East Texas over the weekend, fishing on a lake may not have been the best idea, and could have turned out deadly for the people in this boat.

The video came from the Go-Pro Camera of 16-year-old professional fisherman Tucker Owings. Tucker told KLTV News about the moments leading up to this incredibly close lightning strike,

We were literally feeling what I would describe as static on our rods. At that point we quickly started to head to the ramp."

Tucker went on to say,

I am one of the youngest professionals in the fishing industry and just learned a very important lesson. I am thankful God protected us."

The lightning strike occurred on Lake Athens, southwest of Tyler, Texas.
