It's the time of year when a lot of people are doing Spring cleaning and remodeling. You never know what you're going to find when you tear out the wall of an old house.

70-year old William Wittman of St. Francis, Wisconsin was remodeling a bathroom and discovered a live missile inside the wall. He called out to his wife to show her what he had found, and she immediately notified Police.

The small missile, about 20 inches in length, was picked up by the Milwaukee Sheriff's Department bomb squad and taken to the St. Francis Department of Public Works to be detonated.

The back story is that the house was previously owned by a World War II veteran whose son was in the Korean War. A neighbor remembers the pair giving away a lot of war memorabilia as well as collecting it over the years. That's well and good, but you want to make sure that your collection doesn't contain live ordinance! (via StFrancisNow.com)
