Man Attacks Cops With Weed Whacker At Sears

A man goes into a Sears store in Middletown, New Jersey to return a weed whacker. No that's not the opening line of a joke, but the rest of the story is pretty funny.

Gary Burke, 28, went to the Sears store at around 6:30 pm this past Friday, April 28th to take back a weed whacker he had purchased there. When store employees told him that the lawn and garden department was closed, and he would have to come back later....Burke became extremely irate and started yelling at employees.

The store called the cops and they arrived to escort Burke from the premises. On the way out the door, Burke hit one of the officers with the weed whacker. That's not something you want to do. Aggravated assault on a peace officer is a felony. The guy was charged with that, and they added on a charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon (the whacker).
