While on tour of duty in Afghanistan, soldier Donny Eslinger adopted an adorable dog that he named Smoke-pup Barbarian. But after he was critically wounded during a mortar attack and shipped to Germany, Eslinger was forced to leave the pooch behind.

Rory O’Connor was fishing off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico on Jan. 7th when he suddenly noticed a dog paddling toward him. As you can see in this video, O’Connor helped the injured pup into his kayak before bringing him to a local veterinarian.

Here’s a missing dog story that trumps all others. An adorable dog named Petunia was finally returned to its family in Virginia after she went missing eight long years ago.

In Albany, New York, a jewelry store lost $10,000 in diamonds.  They were suspicious that the missing diamonds might not have been stolen, but eaten by their greeter.  The jewelry store keeps a dog named 'Honey Bun' who acts as a friendly greeter to customers.
